One reason I switched from running for US Senate to running for Utah Governor is because I realized that tyranny at home is worse than tyranny far away.

Well, it hit closer to home.

Go read this story. A man was arrested for exercising a clear right to attend his own trial without restriction.

This happened in Idaho, a more conservative state. And the man was arrested by deputies of the Ada County Sheriff, an elected official.

With things like this happening, two things are clear:

1. The police must earn our support. We can’t just “Back the Blue” by default.
2. Tyranny can appear anywhere.
